Precision Inked is a clean bright top floor private micro-pigmentation studio and laser removal clinic located just off Rose Street in Edinburgh city centre. The studio is exceptionally bright, with natural daylight surrounding the entire room we work from.
The studio has been carefully curated to offer our clients privacy and most importantly to provide an environment full of natural daylight. This is important because when you are coming to have a natural enhancement such as scalp micro-pigmentation, we want to accurately determine correct colours and assess the density as we go, so you will have confidence when you leave with your new look that it’s been created in natural light rather than in a dark room with unnatural light and look different once leaving the studio.
Stuart specialises in scalp micro-pigmentation (SMP) a technique where tiny dots of pigment are gently tattooed using a pointillism technique, in the epidermal layer of the scalp, to create the look of hair follicles. This helps to create a shaved head look and our clients, who may have alopecia, or dealing with hair loss, report that they feel more confident and younger. Other options for hair loss include hair systems or transplants but these include far more maintenance and will not be successful for every client, so SMP is a great option.
SMP is also a fantastic option for those who may have thinning hair but do not wish to shave their hair such as those with small areas of hair loss, or those with longer hair who are struggling with thinning. This type of treatment is referred to as a ‘density treatment’ and is the same technique but placed precisely where needed in order to give the illusion of more fullness in the hair. You will no longer see the scalp so brightly through the thinning hair which is a fantastic end result for these clients.
The treatment can also help to cover surgical scars with many methods of scar camouflage available at the studio.
Stuart also offers laser tattoo removal, including the removal of permanent cosmetics such as eyebrows. Using advanced laser technology, he can effectively break down unwanted pigment in the skin, helping you achieve a fresh start.
Laser removal is one of the quickest and most effective ways to remove or lighten permanent makeup (PMU), allowing for a
cleaner canvas for future treatments. Unlike saline removal, which can take longer and require more sessions, laser treatment
targets pigment at a deeper level, making the process more efficient.
Key benefits of laser PMU removal:
Whether you want to fully remove old PMU or simply lighten existing pigment for a fresh new brow treatment, laser removal is the best option.

Stuart works alongside his wife Gemma (precision beauty) who offers cosmetic tattooing and training and the studio has been open for eight years at this location.
We will discuss all your requirements with you before we begin and pre-draw a hairline that will work for you.
Less is more! so we do want a good colour blend if you have any remaining hair follicles and we will create a face
framing hairline, but for most clients a broken and soft hairline will be far far more natural and undetectable than
a very crisp hairline. Similarly, the colour should be as light as we can go for your skin tone and any current follicles
to get a natural finish.
With good aftercare (wearing SPF outdoors) you will get good longevity from your SMP treatment, however, you may require touch ups (3-5 years) to maintain results as the pigment will naturally fade over time.
It depends completely from client to client as to how many sessions are needed but we can discuss this at
consultation or if you would like to send in a photographs from the front, side and back for a
quote to precisioninked@gmail.com
There’s no downtime, redness is minimal, and aftercare is simple – just applying a lotion daily.
There is a fixed cost of £900 for three sessions for a whole head though the price is lower if a smaller area is involved. Get in touch for a quote.
